Yuval Gotlibovitch Viola, composer -"16" String Quartet
The Israeli born violist Yuval Gotlibovitch won the first Prize and the Fridolin Rusch award at the 8th “international Lionel Tertis Viola Competition”, the first prize at the 2004 “Aviv” Competitions in Israel
and the 2004 American “Fischoff” Chamber Music Competition.
He played as soloist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble, Texas Festival Orchestra and the Ostrobothnian chamber orchestra . He Collaborated in Chamber Music with world renowned artists such as: Menachem Pressler, Marc
Andre Haemlin, George Pludmahcer, Nubuko Imai, Natalia Gutman, Janos Starker and Mischa Maisky among others, and appeared in recitals at the Wigmore Hall, London,
and the Kennedy Center in Washington.
Music composed by Yuval for two silent films: ¨The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari¨ and \"The Golem\" (both from 1919) were premiered (featuring the cellists Erica Weiss and Jonathan Gotlibovich and iolinist Raquel Castro) in the Are More Festival in Vigo, Spain, and featured in the Haifa International Film Festival among various venues in Israel and abroad. The scores were performed live alng the screening.
An album titled Chamebr Music of Jean Francaix, had been released recently on xxi productions, featuring a premiere recording of the original version of Rahpsodie for viola and piano (1946) and trio for Clarinet, viola and piano.
Yuval had been the youngest Professor in the faculty of the Indiana Univetsity from between the years 2004-2008. Currently, he is a Professor at the Concervtorio della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano and is teaching regularly in ESMUC (Escuel Superior de Musica Cataluña) and in Madrid´s Escuel Superior de Music Reina Sofia. He is giving master-classes regularly throughout Europe. His main teachers include Atar Arad and Anna Rasnovsky.
Yuval is a member of the"16" String Quartet.
